When You Wish Upon a Star

Currently, I have list of material goods that I would like to purchase.  This list has been building up since cold weather hit, so it's kind of a long list (beware).

  

While out doing my Christmas shopping last month I couldn't help but notice how many furs I spied in stores.  I always used to view them as ugly coats for old ladies to wear, but some of them are actually really tasteful.  Some of them such as this cute white fur cropped jacket.  It has adorable little sequins sewed on it (I'm in love with sequins at the moment) and I just want it like, super bad.  $24.80 at Forever21 (it helps that it's at my most favorite store).

 

I love pencil skirts.  IlovethemIlovethemIlovethem.  With all of my heart.  But sadly, I have yet to own one.  I would prefer gray to black, and pinstripes would be just dandy, too.

 These adorable little heels are also from Forever21.  They make my heart go pitter-patter.  I can see myself wearing them now...for only $20.80!

 So I know coral lipstick was supposed to be popular during the summer, but I never had the chance to buy some, and am dying to try a peachy color on my lips.  Maybe eyeslipsface.com could possibly have the color I want for only a dollar?  That would be helpful.

 This sweet little tutu is from Old Navy, which sometimes has the greatest sales (a few of my favorite blouses are from there).  And it's only in the little girl sizes, so I obviously won't be buying it, but my mom bought one for my little sister (this exact color, too.  isn't it a darling shade of pink? it's more magenta-y in real life).  But, I love these less-poofy tutus because I've always harbored the secret desire to be a dancer and I've convinced myself that wearing one will make me feel as graceful as I'll ever want to be!

 So, like I said previously, I'm currently in love with sequins, but I don't have anything that a single sequin on it (that I can think of)!  I wouldn't necessarily buy this shirt (since it's $89 at dkny.com) but there are sequin shirts everywhere you go.  I'd wear my sequin top (oh, and the color doesn't matter, in fact, the brighter the better) with a plain black or gray cardigan to tone down the super-sparkliness just a tad.

 Ever since November I've been admiring flannel, plaid shirts whenever I went shopping.  They look so cozy, but they're fashionable too.  Oh, and they can do wonders for your figure I think.  This particular plaid shirt is from Rue21 for $21.99.  I'd prefer a larger pattern in reds, whites, blues, and blacks (I've seen some that I almost bought).

I truly look up to Taylor Swift, but I'm not the biggest fan of her music, but it's easy to relate to and sing along with.  She is so pretty and has a great sense of style - I personally think she looks like a princess, and I wish her hair was mine half of the time.  Anyway, I love her song "Mine" and I've previewed her other songs in this new album and I for defs want it.

Hopefully this was an enjoyable wish list for you to skim through - maybe my lucky star will somehow give all my wishes to me?

Quaint Quote

This was the quote on my Dove chocolate today:

"Don't covet; compliment and aspire."

I've decided to live by it (despite the fact that it cracks me up; just compliment and aspire, no coveting involved at all!).  Aspire.  Doesn't that word just make you want to do better?

I mean, why covet this simple but adorable dress on Lauren Conrad?  I can find something cuter, right?  Of course (winky face right here).  My "aspiring" and not "coveting" of this dress would be adding my own touch...so if I owned it I would totally wear a multiple chained gold or silvery necklace with it.   Aspiration for the day: complete!

This is Useful

What do you do when you are given a $25 gift card to a store you have never heard of, much less shopped at.  Or, a better question might be, what do you with that gift card when everything within the store is over $100?  I don't plan on spending more than $10 of my own, excluding the gift card at this store, Saks Fifth Avenue.  I mean, goodness gracious!  $100 could pay for ten outfits!

 

 So this lovely little gray blouse is something I would totally consider buying, if it weren't $200.

I love this ruffly top (actually, I heart the whole outfit), but I would never spend $995 on it.  I don't know about you, but I just don't have that kind of money sitting patiently in my wallet.

This shirt is so chic but sleek at the same time, and I have jeans that flare similar to the pants in the picture that I could totally wear to imitate the outfit.  If only the shirt cost a little less than $195.  (Oh yeah, those jeans I mentioned? I got them from Goodwill.)

I mean, sure the clothes might be good quality, but do they really need to be that expensive?  Looks like I'll be looking ONLY at the sale rack when I head over to Saks Fifth Avenue to purchase something with that gift card.  If you would like to visit the online website for Saks Fifth Avenue, just click right here.

The Reason

I've attempted to start a few blogs...numerous blogs, and for some reason they never seem to work out.  Perhaps because blogging (making each of my posts perfect)  is a lot more work than I ever expected.  OH, and I am definitely not the greatest at making a blog...so it'll probably be edited often.  (It's kind of learning process.) 

Anyway, the whole reason for this blog is to kind of journal my life right now.  As in, talk about my interests, inspirations, awesome deals found while shopping, and anything else that might come up!  So, my hope is that it will contain useful information that makes my life brighter that could potentially make yours brighter too.

Lovely Little Note Cards

I am quite fond of sending little notes to my dear friendsies once in a while, and I've actually built up an  impressive amount of adorable greeting cards.  I'm hopefully going to send off some thank you notes (as soon as they get written) to the givers of my Christmas presents, so I've got cute little cards on my mind! 

I'm kind of obsessed with old fashioned Europe right now (I recently read Pride and Prejudice), so these caught my fancy and now I WANT.

This lovely card set can be found on this site for $7.95.  I would never pay that much for a pack of greeting cards, but they sure are fun to stare longingly at.

It's always a treat to receive a thoughtful little something in the mail every once in a while, so try making someone's day through a quick, easy way like this.  My day is made just by using cute stationary, not the actual note writing!

Loving Lace

One of my favorite trends that this winter season has introduced is the lace, lace, lace and more lace (that's not lingerie, anyway)!  My closet contains so many articles of lacy clothing that I can hardly go a day without wearing something with lovely lace on it.  Below is a Valentino dress from the Fall 2010 Couture runway. 

This adorable springy (this isn't quite wintry, is it?) tunic shirt from Rue 21 makes me long for warmer days to wear darling, flirty tops such as this one.  It's $19.99, but I'm sure it's probably on sale at the store.

 This lace skirt is from Kohl's.  I love how it's a pencil skirt, but because it is lace, it has more of a feminine and soft look.  Sorry about the blurriness; there's a better picture if you visit the site. It's $19.99 online (on sale now!)

I have a lacy tank top similar to this flowy shirt.  I'm in love with this muted pink right now, and I wish I had more of it!  This top can be found at Forever 21 for $11.50.
